FranciscoR	I asked this over in the Viper boards but thought I would give it a try here. I won't even be buying one for 1 year or so ( unless I get the other ). I am just for now getting as much info as possible so I can "properly plan" money management. The Viper fans tote how strng and fast the Viper is. And this is true. It is much stronger and faster then a Prowler. Not on a whole, but some even say the Prowler is only good for a crusing, and a weekend cruise only car at that. What I am wondering is what are the pros and cons of the Prowler? Also, in what ways are they "better / worse" then a Viper? Not looking for flaming biased opinions, just honesty. Marty Usher	I like both cars and wish I could own one of each. In my mind they are entirely different cars. Vipers are purpose built for raw performance; Prowlers for style. There are some Prowlers running in the 11's and 12's at the dragstrip so with upgrades, the Prolwer can be fast. Appearance modifications are almost unlimited on the Prowler - you can create your own unique vehicle. In stock form, about the only service item that is more costly than a DC sedan is the price of rear tires. As Larry said, the Prowler Owner's Association is as good as it gets for car clubs - fun people that get together to have a great time. Mine is a daily driver and after 65,000 miles, I wouldn't trade it for a Viper (or any other car). Marty ------------------ 2000 Black with hand painted blue faded to purple flames
Gary C	Vipers are way quicker and faster stock vs stock Vipers top speed is 175 to 202(the new ones) Vipers tend to hold there value better Prowlers ride better if you are concerned There a ton of aftermarket parts for Vipers vs Prowler Vipers get about the same fuel mileage, depends how you drive Both Associations are about the same Vipers are way more dangerous to drive, way more JMO I have had 2 Vipers ans 2 Prowlers, when I sold my first(Viper) one after a year I sold it for the same price I bought it for.
Wayne Finch	Well I guess I can give you an unbiased opinion with 2 Vipers and 3 Prowlers. As AC said, they are totally different cars. The Viper is definitely an adreneline rush and is an awesome car. The 2003 is a fabulous driving machine although I like the looks of my 2002 GTS better. That said, there is nothing like the Prowler. Its a real headturner to virtually everyone regardless of age or sex. I've had a seventy-something lady tell me the car is cool and have had 3 year-old boys practically drool on the car. It is a blast to drive and while it isn't a Viper, it has reasonable pickup. There are never-ending modifications you can do for a Prowler, both performance wise and for visual effects. And to top it off, the Prowler has a GREAT website.
Wayne Finch	Gary, checked used Viper prices lately. SSSSSmoked. Probably due to the way Dodge sold the 03 Viper - you virtually had to own a Viper to get a new one. Hence, a lot of used Vipers going up for sale. Prowlers seem to be holding steady now, Viper might now too.
JCProwler	I have a 2002 Prowler, I luv it, but I would also luv to have a Viper! Hands down they are both way cool rides... I like the 2002 red GTS and the new 2003. I cant wait to see what the new C6 looks like, C6/Corvette. Since Bob Lutz is now at GM, hes the Godfather of the Prowler and Viper. When it come to power, the Viper blows smoke. If I could trade my Prowler for a Viper but could not then sell the Viper and could not buy another Prowler, I would not do it. I realize the Viper cost more but I would rather have a Prowler. I am sure there are many that disagree with that, but that is how I feel about it. Gary C's new silver Viper is a beautiful car but I prefer old street rod looks. Bob Miller	I own a 2001 Orange Prowler. I looked at the Viper and I agree it is awesome! However, NOTHING on the road today looks quite like a Prowler. Realistically, there IS A LIMIT on the amount of speed one can use under most normal driving situations. However, there is no limit on the amount of sytle one can exhibit. The Prowler is completely unique, and has adequate acceleration. I completely agree with the earlier comment about the Viper having lots of attitude and the Prowler having lost of style. Both are GREAT cars!
DR PROWLER	I've responded to your question on the Viper board(Dr Viper)and will re-emphasize the fact than owning both cars is as different as owning perhaps a Ducati and a Harley! Judy's comment is totally correct-with a Viper its all about attitude,with a Prowler its a lot more of a combination of great looks and a wide social aspect(you meet the greatest people owning one of those). The only advice I would give you when purchasing an older Viper,make sure you know exactly what you're getting into or it may cost you a fortune repairing it.With a Prowler you'll probably still have some warranty remaining and getting into a newer car with potentially many more years of cost free driving. Just my 2 cents!
Gary C	The attitude in Indy is way different than say the West Coast. Check my post in off topic. I know what yall are talk'n about, but not here.
BeWare	Ed, I could not have said it better. I feel the same way and agree 100% This is not a slam just a fact, but I have meet the people in the local chapter of the Viper club and there is no way the two clubs or the people are the same. With a couple of exceptions the Viper owners would not give me the time of day. I have also meet and continue to hang with the local PT Cruiser Club chapter and these are great folks. If I could own both I would, but I would truely consider buying a second Prowler before buying a Viper.
Wayne Finch	Rich, I somewhat concur with what you have said. In my experience, a good portion of Viper Club members - maybe not quite half, are very similar in many respects to Prowler owners (and some own both) but the other half is definitely a totally different crowd.

Bob Goetz	Vipers or Prowlers it all depends on what you want, as far as appreciation or depreciation on values is based on so many things, a car that is never used and still looks like new in 2 years will be worth more than a car that is driven and enjoyed for 2 years ( but what is all the fun worth $$ ), also when you buy your car if you pay up for the latest and greatest and then decide to sell when the new wears off you are going to lose $$$$. Right now with the economy you can find deals on both Vipers and Prowlers if you find someone that has to sell. My dad just picked up a 03 Viper with 500 miles on it and saved $16,000 off MSRP. Deals are out there but the best deal in the world is not a deal if it is not what you want. Our local Viper guys are a great bunch of people and invite the Prowler guys to join in all the time. You probably could have done the same thing with a Prowler in 97-99 Most used Vipers I see are going for alot less then what they were sold for, at least the ones I've seen.

Silver Cat 01	Is it me, or have Prowler prices bottomed out and appear to be somewhat going back up? I am seeing fewer and fewer for sale, and the ones I see sell are selling for higher and higher prices.
